It may have been the last heat wave we witnessed this summer in the UK and we headed to Chichester beach, West Wittering.
When we talk about UK beaches, it is not the typical summer swim-in the sea, tropical experience that comes to mind. However, for months the summer was exceptional with the temperature being in record heights.
I have definitely taken summer for granted whilst I lived in Hungary. That was the summer I knew and now I am more used to a kind of moody, take it or leave it summer experience. And I also seem to have adopted the English type of relationship towards this beautiful season. You can’t really predict and forecast the weather; it may say sunny now but that may change in the next hour (luckily the same goes for rain). So when you see you have a window of opportunity to enjoy a bit of sunshine, you can’t blame people to swamp the beaches. It is the rule of scarcity.
So West Wittering Beach was very pretty with its nice soft sand and was the perfect day to be out and about. And as one would have expected was a very popular destination for a lot of people that weekend. We had our lunch packed with us and enjoyed a bit of sunshine and swim. I wish I could say Deni was a fan of this little trip too but he is still not much in love with water. Especially with the tide chasing us – bless him
It was one of the last very warm summer days since so a day very well spent.
